With the most anticipated weekend of off-road racing coming up, Crandon International Off-Road Raceway plays host to the annual Labor Day Weekend Championships.  An important milestone to this year’s weekend of short course races is AMSOIL’s announcement of a larger purse in the AMSOIL Cup. This is the third straight year the AMSOIL will sponsor the race and the increase in prize is in line with the AMSOIL’s celebrating 40 years in the automotive engine oil industry.
Chad Hord took home the AMSOIL Cup last year, worth a first prize of $25,000. It was only the third time in the race’s running that a PRO2 won the race. This year if Hord is lucky enough to win the cup once more, he will be walking away with an even bigger pot- $40,000 all thanks to AMSOIL, the industry number 1 in innovative and premiere lubricating oil.
AMSOIL Race Program Executive Jeremy Meyer has expressed his anticipation of the upcoming race and has stated high hopes for the cup. He acknowledged that the Labor Day races at Crandon are the highpoint of short-course racing in America, and AMSOIL is happy to participate in the event with the sponsorship of the AMSOIL Cup. The $40,000 first prize is one of the biggest top prizes in short-course racing. Meyer also expects that the racers are as excited about the AMSOIL cup.
